Constitutions of Chinese Professional women of Canada

Chapter One: General Rules
Article I: Title
The name of this organization is Chinese Professional Women of Canada, referred to as "CPWC" hereinafter. “Professional” means members have finished a professional education.
Article II: Objective
The Objectives of this organization is:
1.2.1 To unite the Chinese professional women in
status, and to strive for and protect their legal rights in
1.2.2 To improve the communication and cooperation among the members in order to contribute
to the society while being rewarded for their specialties;
1.2.3 To facilitate Chinese professional women’s connection with the counterparts from other
communities to strengthen the involvement of Chinese women in Canadian economic,
cultural and other social activities, by which to enhance the social status and influence of
Chinese women in
1.2.4 To promote the cohesive force among Chinese women, to contact with different
communities in the form of organization, in order that Chinese women will be able to
better adapt to and function well in
Article III: Nature
CPWC is a non-profit organization registered in Canadian government for Chinese professional women. We are not and will not be involved in any political, religious and racial disputations.
Chapter Two: Organization Structure
Article I: The member of CPWC must be a Chinese woman with legal status in
Article II: The Council is the decision-making unit whose day-to-day management is implemented by one Chairman and two deputy chairmen. The members of the council are elected by the General Assembly biennially on a democratic basis. The election is valid only when over 2 third of the all members attend the General Assembly. Any member who cannot attend must appoint a deputy.
Article IV: Any professional celebrity who supports the objectives and work of CPWC has the
opportunity to be invited as Honored Consultant by the Council.
Chapter Three: Obligations and Rights
Article I: Obligations
Members of CPWC must:
3.1.1 Accept the objectives of CPWC; abide by the regulations of CPWC and the Canadian laws
and Legislation; provincial and local government policies and by-law;
3.1.2 Adopt and uphold prohibiting discrimination and harassment and protect the right to be
free of hate activity, based on any personal characteristics;
3.1.3 Pay the registration fee on time; take part in the activities organized by CPWC;
3.1.4 Actively expand and strengthen the influence of CPWC without imposing harm on the
reputation of CPWC. The Council has the right to dismiss any member who violates the
obligations and access and equity policy.
Article II: Rights
All members of CPWC can:
3.2.1 Elect and be elected to the Council;
3.2.2 Inquire, advise, comment and suggest on pertinent CPWC affairs;
3.2.3 Share all the benefits provided and participate in the activities organized or jointly
organized by CPWC;
3.2.4 Equitable rights to be involved in election and the activities organized by CPWC.
Chapter Four: Membership and Fee
Article I: People who want to join CPWC must have at least one reference from CPWC members and receive the permission from the Council;
Article II: The basic annual registration fee is ten Canadian dollars. Sponsoring from Honored Consultant is welcome.
