Fluoroscopy and ultrasound equipment are used by the doctors at CPWC to steer needles to their targets. Medical literature demonstrates enhanced precision (how close the needle is to the target structure), results (how well the operation works), and safety (lower complication rates).
Sound Training in Pain Management
The Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) launched the Pain Medicine subspecialty training program and examination to qualify Pain Medicine subspecialists beginning in 2014. The first two doctors in Canada to complete RCPSC exams in both Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation and Pain Medicine were our co-founders.
The symptoms of untreated chronic pain, including disordered sleep, depression, anxiety, the effect on personal relationships, job, and home function, are recognized by our doctors. We believe that timely access to treatments for pain relief can help breaking this vicious cycle and improve the function and quality of life of our patients.
A Safe Place For Both Doctors And Patients
We acknowledge the frustrations that our patients face in the health care system when given multiple messages and diagnoses. This is not due to the lack of awareness or any conditions that have been overlooked but rather refers to the essence and difficulty of chronic conditions of pain. We aim to give our patients and prescribed physicians a thorough understanding of diagnosis and treatment options through our expertise.
We are involved in teaching and training the future generation of physicians through medical school, residency, and fellowship training. We are also active provincially, nationally, and globally in training other doctors.
Our mission is to provide the highest quality of care for painful conditions.
